Open a community center / more things for students to do
⁃ After school programs
⁃ Student-ran clubs
⁃ Community members running after school clubs for students
⁃ Tutoring opportunities
⁃ Get more businesses in town that would be on board to be gathering places for students
⁃ Movies in the park
⁃ Places for athletes to be between school and games
⁃ Establish a path for students to get into town from the high school as they are not longer supposed to walk through the elementary area where the day care is run

⁃ Work with businesses
⁃ Talk to schools about how DKEF can work with employers to supplement salary
Struggles
⁃ Big struggle for kids is that they dont stay after for after school programs because there is not exciting draw to whatever is going on
⁃ Too enticed by screens and comfort at home
⁃ School really struggles with funding which is why its hard to get support
⁃ Teachers cannot be expected to do all these extra things. They have full plates and for not enough money

⁃ Inquire about how DKEF can provide support/grants for teachers
Course Offerings
⁃ Dual enrollment
⁃ We have a lot of AP offerings
⁃ Were going to try to keep those
⁃ We are losing COVID funding next year and a lot of that funding has been going to keeping teacher to pupil funding down
⁃ Janis Dinda is working on teachers having more voice in what electives they teach
⁃ Kids are more interested in choosing things that are interesting to them rather than just doing what looks good now so hoping that we can make more options available to them
Career Exploration Elective Course:
⁃ First half of the class will be career exploration/guest speakers/shadowing/etc
⁃ Chose one to take on as an internship for the second half of the class
