  • How do I get up to speed?

    If you haven't been to any meetings yet, or are just hearing about us, welcome! You can find notes from our meetings under the "News and Events" tab on this page. You can also scroll through the "What We Do" tabs and see what sorts of goals we're setting. When you get a chance, take our Community Survey to give your two cents on what we focus on.

  • How do I get involved?

    We have three committees within Revitalize Delton: Housing, Education, and Economic Development. We know that everyone in this community is unique and has a unique skillset. Even though all of our committees share the same end goal, we implore the unique talents, knowledge, and skills of each individual to make the wheels turn. If you are especially knowledgeable in one of these areas, or specifically passionate about one of these areas, we would love for you to get in touch and start working on projects within those committees. Just shoot us an email!

  • Why do we need a water tower?

    One of our goals is to assess water quality issues and the water tower will be part of the long term solution to cleaner water. If we have cleaner water, we can help drive housing and business development in our community. When it comes time to assess the sort of housing that is needed for development in this community, a water tower will be an important part of accessing state grant money to help fund and drive the rural development.

  • How much of my donation directly supports the cause?

    Any donations will go directly to our projects. We have set up a fund at the Barry County Community Foundation so that donations may be tax deductible.

  • Why do we need to spend money on a feasibility study?

    A feasibility study done by an outside organization will help us to better understand the demographics of our community as well as guide us in understanding what sorts of developments are needed in regards to housing and to economic development. In order to later access state grant money to help fund development, a feasibility study will be crucial to secure that aid and drive that progress.

  • What is affordable housing?

    The plans for housing development will be aimed at middle class families who do not make enough money to buy larger homes in the area and make too much money to qualify for low income housing grants. "Workforce" housing generally includes housing for families who make 80%-120% of the area median income. In Barry County, our area median income is just over $75,000 per year. We are hoping that this will provide more opportunities for young families, young entrepreneurs, and for Delton teachers to afford to live comfortably in our community.

  • How do you plan to promote transparency in your organization?

    One of our goals is to increase transparency in all arms of our local government. We also strive to make information as readily available to you as possible. We are hoping to better communicate decisions being made at the local level of our governments.

  • How big of a concern is enrollment?

    The graph below shows enrollment over the last 20 years at Delton Kellogg. The white lines are the years that enrollment increased. The Black dot on the 2003-2004 school year represents the current enrollment in the Delton Kellogg District.
